Highway 70 East - The Department of Transportation is studying a multi million dollar project to make 70 between James City and just beyond Carolina Colours more traffic friendly. The plan is to close some intersections and add Michigan interchanges to eliminate traffic lights and cut down on accidents.

Starbucks! - The new 2,000 home golf course community of Carolina Colours is expecting to have another (will be our third) Starbucks in their commercial section. That will make 3 in our area with the others being in Harris Teeter and Target.
Broad Street's new streetscape is finally in the planning stages. There will be a median with trees or extra wide sidewalks with trees. We are looking forward to completion by the 300th anniversary celebration in 2010.
Waterfront Townhouses - just off the Trent River (near Historic Downtown New Bern) in a protected canal. This 2,950 square foot unit is located in a 34 home community. First Night Comes to New Bern. Well, its coming for New Year's Eve 2009. Mark your calendar for this family event. In case you are not familiar with the celebration, take a look at www.firstnightintl.org. This will be the kick-off event for the 300th Anniversary celebration for the founding of New Bern. We are planning many activities for children in the afternoon and early evening. More adult venues, still family oriented, will continue through the evening to the grand finale at midnight with fireworks in Union Point Park.
